Landon is an 11 year old boy living with an Acquired Brain Injury, Oppositional Defiant Disorder, Attention Deficit Hyperactive Disorder, Sensory Processing Disorder, Anxiety Disorder, and Post Traumatic Stress Disorder. Landon acquired his brain injury through Meningitis about 5 years ago which put him into a coma for a month. He lives with low memory function and low impulse control. Landon lives with his mother, Briana, her boyfriend, Kevin, and his 3 siblings, Lainey, Magena, and Skylar.
Landon is closest with his mother and his sister, Magena (or Gena as she is often called). Landon and his sister Lainey have a tendency to butt heads since they are so similar in personality. Landon has been mostly indifferent towards his youngest sibling, Skylar, and gets along with Kevin depending on his mood.
Despite his traumatic history, Landon is an extremely kind and friendly boy. He loves animals, and his family has 6 cats. He is very helpful, especially with younger kids. He is very interested in electronics, video games, and all things related to science. He knows a lot of scientific facts that he can share at any given time. He does very well in Math and can type an impressive 96 words per minute! Landon has a great sense of humor and is a funny kid. Landon responds best to positive feedback and praise when he does well. Landon has been involved in partners sports camp for the past 3 years, and will continue going in the future. He also enjoys unified soccer camp, and hanging out at the YMCA.
Landon and his family face many challenges, some within the education system. However, with lots of hard work and advocating, they have been able to overcome their obstacles, and he is now excelling in school.
When asked what her hopes for Landon's future were, Briana replied “ I just want my son to feel safe. I want him to feel supported by the community including the school and law enforcement."
